From artist Deborah Moore: “I’m so pleased about the watercolour! I don’t know if I had told you this, but I recall that in thinking about the composition of this piece and the character you were playing, the choice of cool shadowy colours were meant to recede somewhat, while I brought out the skin tones to highlight her vulnerability and humanity. I thought your expression was really beautiful from the photo I was working with and I think it comes through here. I also didn’t mix any colours on the palette but allowed the pure pigments to mingle on the paper and run a bit.”
