“There are precious few opportunities for emerging actors to hone their craft in Ottawa, and I wanted to tell you how inspiring I find your consistent effort to support artists of all age working in this city. I thought the workshop structure was perfect. Since graduation, I have very sorely missed just being in a room to play with other eager actors, and would jump at the chance to do something like this again. What you do is amazing!”

Testimonials*
“Truly an awesome pedagogue, colleague and artist. We are lucky to have you.”
–Chair of Dept of Theatre, University of Ottawa 2023
“Absolutely brilliant masterclass. I learned so much, and your coaching helped me use the monologue for an audition that same day and it was the very first time that I performed a monologue in an audition where I truly forgot that I was auditioning at all! It was so awesome! Your workshop was so inclusive of all experience levels, I think anyone could get so much out of it, whether just starting out, or a seasoned professional.”
–EC (Audition Preparation Masterclass 2023-24)
“It has been an absolute pleasure getting to learn from you. I have enjoyed every class, meeting, and chat that we have had over the last 3 years. You have taught me some of the most important lessons about acting; being an artist; and most importantly, being a human being. I have really looked to you as a mentor and guide over my time at the university and I hope I can keep in touch as I transition into the professional world.”
–MC (BFA student; graduated 2022)
“I just wanted to send a note to say thank you again for the workshop you facilitated today! It was powerful to see the students drop in to those emotions and discover more authenticity in their scenes, and also perhaps within themselves. There were so many wonderful takeaways that I know the teacher and the students will use moving forward.”
–AB, Learning Coordinator, English Theatre of National Arts Centre
“It was thrilling. I could listen to you all day long. There was delightful insight there and you answered their questions – that is worth ‘the world’! A lot of what you said would resonate delightfully with a room full of pros! You were entrancing – because you were speaking with the authority of something you know about, and that shone through.”
–Weldon Poabst, Mercury Films [Re: Acting Skills for Professional Film Animators)
“Ça fait 15 minutes que je suis dans mon bureau à écouter Kristina Watt qui explique patiemment et clairement un concept à une étudiante. L’étudiante vient de comprendre – je l’entends dans sa voix.”
–Department of Theatre Professor, University of Ottawa
I want to thank you for your class this semester. It really is a life changer to learn about theatre in Canada, my mind is blown at how much richness there is right in our backyards. It is very exciting and hopeful to get just a taste of and know there is so much left to discover and support. If you were doing more intensive courses on this subject I would gladly take them. That said, I would be happy to take most any course with you as a teacher :)”
–GK, MA Theatre Studies Graduate
“I appreciated the practical guidance about the business side of acting, the acknowledgment of the actors’ inner struggles, and the opportunity to play and receive feedback. I only wish the workshop had been longer. I so appreciate the knowledge, experience and sense of joy you bring to the work.”
–JB, actor and writer
“First of all, I want to thank you for the invitation to come see this very original, and at some points, a very touching play [The Anniversary]. Second of all, it’s a really lovely experience to see your acting teacher perform on stage and I feel like it has enriched in a way the lessons I learned during your class. I loved the play and I could really see in your amazing acting how one doesn’t fully transform from herself to the character she plays, but rather integrate the sense of character in her own body; something we worked on during the first semester.”
