Kristina Watt nominated for 2025 Johanna Metcalf Prize!

I (Kristina here) am super happy to share with you that I’ve been nominated for a 2025 Johanna Metcalf Performing Arts Prize/Les Prix Johanna-Metcalf, awarding “Ontario’s leading creators in the performing arts.” This nomination is for the new creations I have built (along with groups of collaborators of all ages) such as 12, STUFF, Holding Mercury, Particle, and Wild Life since I moved back to Canada.

A bit more: the Johanna Performing Arts prize (led by the Ontario Arts Council and Metcalf Foundation) was created to “celebrate artists in Ontario who have made a recognized impact on the field and the public, and show great promise in the ongoing pursuit of their ambitious and visionary practices.”

Congratulations to all the artists also nominated! How wonderful to be among you.

  1. This is such a well-deserved honour. The work that you have done continues to astonish and delight all who have the privilege of being participants and audience members. Your impact on young people is lasting and impactful. I know of no one else working in the field who brings such dedication, commitment and honesty to their work with youth. You are a visionary.
